SpeedCommander is a powerful file manager. It features the common dual-pane tabbed interface that makes sorting, copying, moving, renaming, deleting, compressing and managing files and folders an easy job.
Another remarkable feature is the fact that it allows compressing files using different archiving formats, including the popular SQX, CAB, RAR, and ZIP compression algorithms. You can even create self-extracting archives.
SpeedCommander lets you split and batch-rename files, edit file attributes, compare and synchronize folders, calculate folder sizes, and do a lot much more. Despite being packed with a lot of features, it manages to be lightweight, neat, and intuitive. In my opinion, it represents a viable alternative for anyone looking for a powerful and reliable file manager.
